A small seed sown 50 years ago has grown into a mighty tree in the land of CFRI in the coal capital of the country. Thanks to Sr. Violette for her belief in the beauty of her dreams and dependence on God which gave birth to our institution.

SCHOOL PROFILE (Affiliated to the Council for the ICSE ,New Delhi)

January 7th 1955 saw the beginning of our Little Convent within the colony of the F.R.I. in a little house called " Hill Bunglow ". It was through the negotiation of Sister Clarissa who was then the Superior of our Convent at Hazaribagh with Rev. Fr. Jacque and Fr. Sharp that laid the first step to this little foundation of the Apostolic Carmel in Digwadih.

The then out going Director of F.R.I. Dr. Whiltaker and the in coming Director Dr. Lahiri carried on the correspondence through the above tow mentioned Fathers and brought about our acceptance of their invitation to have a school in the F.R.I. Colony for the education of girls from this area.

Mr. Mani the administrator, our good friend and neighbour and Mr. Mahadevan a member of the school committee gave the sisters a strong support to start with. A lady friend Mrs. Houisin who was greatly interested in the school also helped in getting ourselves settled down in our little house. It was thus that we started our Apostolate in Digwadih with Sister Violette as the first superior with community of three sisters Srs. Marie Helene Terese and Roseline. Our spiritual needs were all attended to by Rev. Fr. Sharp, the Parish Priest of Dhanbad.
