15th East Zone Karate Championship
15th East Zone Karate Championship 2015 was held on 26th and 27th of September 2015 at Gitanjali Hall, Kharagpur. Inauguration ceremony was on 26th September, 2015 at 11.00 a.m. Organiser of this event was Rajan Kumar Sonakar. It was organised by Shorin Kyu Matsubayshi Karate Federation of India. The winner would bag the trophy named Frank D Grant. The styles that took part was Dhammika karate do kai kan India, Kyo Khushinkan, Shorin Ryu, Okinawan, Goju Kyu, Shotokan and Wada Ryu.
Judges for this event were some of the renowned names : Rajan Sonakar, Gulzar Raja, Anand Kumar, Tapan Mistri, Vijay Prakesh Kumar, Raj Kumar, Kishore Kumar, Narendra Singh and many more. There were total 24 schools that participated and 6 camps were also a part of this Karate Championship. The Black Belters were Shiba Hussain, Rani Mukherjee, Farah Yasmin, Sweksha Sinha.
